Jane Buurman Handmade

We are a small family run business based near Bath, born from Jane’s love of sewing. We sell original freehand machine embroidered wall art, cards printed from the original designs and gifts.

Jane spends many happy hours making the original stitched designs, incorporating paper, fabric and other materials to create texture and colour, she then stitches the detail freehand using her sewing machine. Once finished the design are sent to our UK printers to be made into beautiful greeting cards. We use gorgeous quality textured board stock to show off the stitched artwork, it looks so real you can almost feel it! Some of Jane’s designs are hand finished with jewels to give them that extra sparkle.

Jane loves being creative and loves all things craft related, but her top two hobbies have always been sewing and pottery.  She’s been passionate about both nearly all her life in one form and another and she can't imagine life without them! Jane also runs taster workshops to introduce people to the art of freehand machine embroidery; once you start free-motion sewing it’s very addictive!

In August 2018 Jane finally gave up my part-time job to concentrate on her sewing and pottery. It’s been hard for Jane to split her time between sewing and throwing pots, but as our stitched art and card range have taken off the pottery has sadly taken a bit of a back seat - there are only so many hours in a day!
